Evaluation of Continuity Sequence (Ellie B)

"I see through my eyes; the camera is just a machine to record it for me." - Juergen Teller

Our challenge for this task was to create 20 shots, all which culminate in a final cut of a piece which follows 'the exchange of a package'. We decided to focus on - rather than the exchange of a package - an object being stolen, and focused on the 'package' (a set of keys) changing hands between the victim, the thief and then the policeman. Rather than focusing on the actual subjects in the film, we decided to place our focus on the certain shot types and angles to create our desired effects.

Particularly, one of my favourite shots consists of the camera focused on a padlock of a locker. To do this, we needed to create a shallow depth of field. By changing the aperture on our camera, and completely opening up the lens with a small f-stop number. Traditionally, we decided to use f/3.5. This creates a really nice effect, and we see a figure (out of focus) move through the door in the background, this creates the air of mystery, who is that figure in the background?
